Brand New Training Course on the GGF Training Academy: Regulation 14 Training

This course is delivered in two parts with a 4 hour classroom based session in Milton Keynes, followed by assessment.

Course Description

The purpose of the course is to provide knowledge needed to understand the requirements for safety glass in buildings with particular emphasis given to Regulation 14 of the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992, leading to how to identify the possible need for the application of safety film and safety glass and how to carry out a Regulation 14 survey.

• Introduction to Architectural Glass
• Glass & Safety Glass
• Understanding Glass Markings
• Understanding Markings for Applied Safety Film
• Brief Overview of Regulations
• Responsibilities for Glass in Buildings
• Testing and Measuring Equipment
• How to Conduct a Glazing Survey
• Other useful references needed to succeed

Who is the Course For?

The course is for those who want to understand the need for safety glass, and marking of safety glass in a range of locations and the requirements under the Workplace Regulations 1992. Those who complete the course would then be able to carry out on site inspections of glass and provide relevant information in regards to its risk.
