FORE! Get ready for GGF Golfing 2019

It’s approaching that time of year again when the GGF Golf Days get into full swing and Members and invited guests to compete in what are popular and enjoyable social events.

The dates and venues for two Golf Days are now confirmed. The first is north of the border as the GGF Scotland Annual Golf Tournament takes place on 16th May with the next GGF Golf Day being the London and South East annual event on 9th July in Maidstone in Kent.

GGF London and South East Golf Day Event organiser, Peter Stuttard, is looking forward to running another great day of golfing but advises Members to make sure their place is booked.

“This event is usually one of the best attended of all the GGF golf days. I would encourage all Members who wish to attend and/or compete to book early to avoid disappointment.”

GGF Scotland Annual Golf Tournament

The GGF Scotland Annual Golf Tournament will take place on Thursday 16 May 2019. All Members, guests and non-players are welcome for what promises to be a great social event.

• £35 plus VAT per person (non-players)

This year’s tournament takes place at:

Gourock Golf Club, Cowal View, Gourock, Inverclyde PA19 1HD

The running times for the day are as follows:-

• 12noon: registration, tea/coffee, soup and bacon rolls
• 12.30-12.45: first tee (one full round of golf)
• 18.00: finish course and head back to the clubhouse
• 18.45: drinks in the bar
• 19.00: evening meal and prize-giving

For those who want to stay over, there is accommodation just 10 minutes away and GGF Scotland Chairman, Alex Gray, has organised a private coach to take Members to and from the golf club and The Tontine Hotel, 6 Ardgowan Square, Greenock, PA16 8NG.

GGF London and South East Golf Day

The GGF London and South East Golf Day Tournament will take place on Tuesday 9 July 2019.
All GGF Members across the UK are welcome to attend and compete for what is one of the highlights in the GGF sporting calendar.

This year’s event takes place at:

The Tudor Park Marriot Hotel & Country Club Ashford Road, Bearsted,
Maidstone, Kent ME14 4NQ

The exciting and enjoyable day starts with the morning’s play, which will be over 9 holes for the Preedy Glass Trophy (Best Greensome Pairs Score). In the afternoon Members will be playing for the Pilkington Cup (Best Individual Stableford Score).

In addition, there are “Closest to the Pin” and “Longest Drive” Competitions. Also in the afternoon the “over 55’s” will be playing for the Albert Mitchell Trophy.

The running times for the day are as follows:-

• 08.00: Registration, coffee/ tea and bacon rolls
• 09.00: 1st Tee-morning round (9 holes)
• 11.30: approximately – Lunch (rolling basis)
• 13.00: 1st Tee- afternoon round (18 holes)

Complimentary driving range tokens will be o ered for all participants using the driving range during the event. This year’s event costs only:

• £85 plus VAT per person
• £40 plus VAT per person (non-players)

As with last year, there will be no hidden extras. The fee will cover for the kitty, prizes and staff gratuities.

Members who wish to stay overnight can enjoy a special preferential GGF Members’ rate:

• £99 single occupancy
• £109 double occupancy
