Guidance from Devolved Governments
Following the UK Government’s announcement last week on easing the lockdown due to COVID-19 and the Guidance for people working in home issued on 11th May, it should be stressed that this is guidance for work undertaken in England only. Members have contacted the GGF in the last few weeks asking about the restrictions and legislation when working in Northern Ireland, Wales and Scotland.
Though the GGF has issued links to the respective devolved Government websites, please see below the current status regarding working in the other nations in the UK.
In Northern Ireland
Construction sites
Work can be undertaken but should adhere to the guidance on physical distancing and safety measures as recommended by the UK Government and aligned to Construction Leadership Council guidance “Site Operating Procedures”.

Work can continue if safety guidelines are followed

Essential work only should be carried out.

Construction sites
Only essential work can be undertaken. The Scottish Government has defined essential work. Essential work can continue but should adhere to the guidance on physical distancing.
