Events

The GGF runs over 100 specialist meetings and events throughout the year. Consultancy

The GGF Technical Consultancy provides a range of services to companies across the industry. They include inspections, product testing, expert witness, on-site testing and calibration, all tailored to your requirements. The consultancy service is offered at vastly reduced rates to members, guaranteeing the GGF community receives the best value for money in the industry.

Advocacy & Political Representation

The GGF Advocacy department works on behalf of the GGF community to influence key government departments, senior civil servants and stakeholders for the betterment of the industry. We are constantly in touch with decision makers on the issues affecting our industry and how we can have a positive impact on the country reaching its Net Zero goals for 2050.

The department produces research papers and easy to understand marketing material for your company to use in discussions with customers as to why it is important you have the very best windows and doors installed in your home. The GGF acts as an important single voice for Members to raise concerns with local and national Government and the media.

GGF Training & Skilled Pathways

The GGF Training Academy offers a variety of courses to GGF members, ranging from a quick 2-hour refresher to an NVQ. These courses are available either remotely or in person, depending on the course content, and at a discounted rate for members. By taking advantage of these opportunities, your company can stand out in the Glass & Glazing Industry.

One of GGF Training’s flagship projects is the Skilled Pathways Scheme. This program helps members recruit and train the next generation of talent, which is crucial for futureproofing businesses in the industry. The program takes between 18-24 months to complete and offers a mix of in-person and remote learning. GGF funds the training for each trainee up to a value of £4,000, making it an excellent investment for members.

Technical Library

Our expanding technical library that caters to the glass and glazing industry. Our collection of resources is divided into three categories: datasheets, good practice guides, and guidance for both trade and consumers. The datasheets provide industry-specific source documents that cover product details such as IGUS, Toughened, Laminated, Curved Glass, Window Film, Windows, Doors, and Hardware. Good Practice Guides offer installation standards and requirements for Windows, Doors & Conservatories. Lastly, our Guidance for Trade & Consumers explains essential topics like condensation, roller wave, anti-roscopy, and visual inspection.

Recycling

The GGF community has access to a multi material recycling scheme in place across England, Scotland and Wales. Any member wanting to have their old uPVC, aluminium and timber frames collecting, as well as your
post-consumer glass, can do so for free. A huge saving on skip hire and landfill costs, and in the case of aluminium, you’ll be paid a commission for it as well.

Conciliation

GGF Conciliation is a free, impartial and independent service whose aim is to act as a neutral arbiter to steer disagreements and negotiations towards an amicable conclusion, saving your company time and money in the process.

Glazing Market Knowledge Report

The Market Knowledge Report is an annual paper produced by the GGF Group that is free to all members. The report provides a level of insight into the industry over the past 12 months using its own internal data and selected external data sources.
Underlying trends are discussed as well as the outlook for the coming year ahead based on detailed analysis of industry performance with the intention of providing the GGF community with greater knowledge of what lies ahead for their business.

Discounted Insurance Backed Guarantees (IBGs)

For any installers joining the GGF, you will receive a preferential, discounted rate on their IBGs when using Installsure as their IBG provider. In many cases, this annual saving covers the costs of your GGF membership.

Pulse Testing

Pulse Testing is an alternative to the mandatory installation of trickle vents. The 2022 update to the Building Regulations means vents have to be fitted on replacement windows and doors in the majority of cases. However, if you’re not making the room more airtight then you don’t need those extra vents.
GGF members receive a 25% discount on all Pulse Testing services, a significant saving and an alternative solution for your customers who are adamant they don’t want vents fitting on their brand new windows
