Insulating Glass Manufacturers and Components Group

Insulating Glass Units Group is a specialist group within the GGF Membership that addresses the issues around IGU’s.

 Insulating glass units

Insulating glass units (IGUs) are two or more panes of glass that are separated by a spacer and sealed together at the edges. The spacer is filled with a gas, such as argon or krypton, which helps to insulate the IGU and reduce heat transfer. IGUs are often referred to as “double glazing” or “double-pane” windows.

IGU (Insulated Glass Units) Benefits

IGUs offer a number of benefits over single-pane windows, including:

  • Increased energy efficiency: IGUs can help to reduce heat loss in the winter and heat gain in the summer, which can save you money on your energy bills.
  • Improved noise reduction: IGUs can help to reduce noise pollution, making your home more peaceful and quiet.
  • Increased security: IGUs can make your home more secure by making it more difficult for burglars to break through.
  • Increased durability: IGUs are more durable than single-pane windows and can withstand more wear and tear.

If you are looking for a way to improve the energy efficiency, noise reduction, security, and durability of your windows, then IGUs are a good option.
