General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)
In May 2018, Europe’s data protection rules underwent their biggest changes in two decades. Since the launch of the Data Protection Act in 1998, the amount of digital information we create, capture, and store has vastly increased. Simply put, the old regime was no longer fit for purpose.
The solution is the mutually agreed European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which came into force on 25 May 2018. It changes how businesses and public sector organisations can handle the information of customers.
GDPR and your business
If you are a consumer-facing GGF Member it is important that you understand the impact that GDPR will have on your business. Failure to comply could result in significant fines. We appreciate that our Members are busy running their businesses so we’ve created a single point of access to information you need to know.
GGF have partnered with Cybercrowd to provide background information and advice you need to know to ensure you are compliant. Follow this link to view the presentation which was delivered at the GGF Window and Door Group meeting in Solihull on 25 January 2018.
We are running a number of free one-day workshops about GDPR for GGF Members. If you would like to register your interest to attend one of our workshops please complete the form below.
