Annual Accident Statistics

The GGF monitors the number, rate and types of accidents, including reportable accidents, in its Member companies.The information shows the safety performance in the sector along with types of accidents occurring and longer term trends.

Annual figures for 2017 are expected by February 2018 from which it will be ascertained which sector the highest number of incidents fall into.

This enables the GGF to investigate and draw on this information to discuss with the Health and Safety Committee to, for example, seek resolution or provide training.

The statistics for 2015 showed that manual handling provided the highest percentage of incidents, second only to cuts. The GGF then decided to put in place a training scheme for manual handling which is available to all our members.
