GET your CSCS Q-CARD via GGF TRAINING

GET your CSCS Q-CARD via GGF TRAINING

GGF Training is now actively promoting the CSCS, or Construction Skills Certification Scheme.

The CSCS Q-Card is a way to verify that all workers on the many CSCS Q-Card regulated construction sites have the necessary training and qualifications to carry out work on the sites. The CSCS Q-Card also provides workers on-site with a form of identification when on a CSCS building site.

GGF Member, GQA Qualifications, is now the UK’s sole provider of CSCS cards for the glass, glazing and fenestration industries. Everything you are qualified to do will now be listed on the card alongside any GQA accredited training you may have undertaken.

Mick Clayton, Managing Director of GQA Qualifications

On GGF Training’s promotion of the CSCS cards, Mick Clayton, Managing Director of GQA Qualifications commented:

“GQA Qualifications has been the sole provider of CSCS cards for the Fenestration and Glass related industries for the last 3 years and we have developed a strong partnership with CSCS and an equally strong partnership with the GGF.  We are delighted that they are promoting the importance of Health and Safety Qualifications and the CSCS Q-Card through their training programme, and we are here to support them and anybody requiring cards for access to sites.”

There are three types of CSCS Card:

1. Temporary Card

Primarily aimed at those with verifiable experience and already employed within the industry. The card is valid for 12 months from the date of issue and cannot be renewed.

2. Trainee Card

This card is for new entrants to the industry, including apprenticeships. The Card is valid for 24 months from the date of issue and cannot be renewed.

3. Full Card

This card is based on achievement of a specific role qualification and is valid for 5 years from the date of issue and can be renewed when it expires. The Cardholder is required to complete either a CITB Health, Safety and Environmental touch screen test or the GQA Health and Safety assessment paper.

Note: Temporary and Trainee cards require proof of registration on a regulated role specific qualification and completion of either the CITB Health, Safety and Environmental touch screen test or the GQA Health and Safety assessment. This Health & Safety evidence must have been completed within the 2 years preceding application. Full cards require proof of regulated role specific qualification achievement and the same Health & Safety evidence as above.
